Well im getting a new iguana and the owner before me didnt know how to care for it very well its skin is dry cracked and lacking in color and it bobs its head whenever its touched i know for a fact the man is scared of getting whipped and will back off right at any sign of head bobbing the iguana knows its dominant so how do i make the iguana comfortable with me?

A lot of time, patience, and slow movements! Find a good reptile vet, if he hasn’t been well cared for, he is going to need a lot care to be healthy! Get his skin and overall health taken care of first, everybody is less cranky when they feel good. Then slowly approach him and handle him everyday. It may take a long time before he is comfortable with you. Don’t show fear, even if he whips. Animals can sense fear, and if he knows you are afraid of him, he will continue whatever action it was that made you show fear. Talk soothingly and move slow. Good luck!
