Is it possible for a Cockatiel and a Parakeet to have babies together?

We have a female cockatiel that is in the cage with a male parakeet. She keeps laying eggs. Are they "just eggs" or could they possibly hatch into birds?

NO, they're different species and therefore cannot breed in the same way that you and a dog cannot breed even though you're both mammals.
The eggs are unfertilized and should be removed from the cage so they don't rot. Many female birds (like chickens) lay eggs on a regular basis whether or not they've had any contact with a male bird.
Because the female is laying eggs regularly, you'll have ot watch out for egg binding, which is a serious condition that can result in death. You should talk to your vet about what to look out for and to make sure that this behavior is normal.
