Is it ok for my iguana to eat dog food?

His main diet is spinach lettuce, romain lettuce, and iguana food. He's a free-roaming iguana though and about every other day he makes his way to the dog food bowl and takes a few bites of that. Should I not let him do this or is it alright? Note: He gets along with my dog (and other animals) just fine, he's in no danger there.

No. Dog food has animal protein, which your iguana isn't made to digest so it will eventual accumulate in organs and cause kidney/liver failure.
Your diet is also off. Iguanas shouldn't have lettuce, any kind of lettuce at all as they are mostly water and no nutritional value. Almost all pellets have grain, fish/animal by products and protein in the ingredients. Read well the label and make sure its 100% plant matter if you insist on feeding; but an ideal diet should consist mostly of greens with vegetables and occasional fruit for supplementation.

Shred all greens to small pieces that your iguana can easily eat, if its a smaller iguana, get everything chopped as finely as you can manage.
