How long will a small cage for a baby iguana last?
I am getting an iguana but I can only afford a small cage for about . The cage is almost twice the length of the iguana. Its a baby iguana, how long do you think it will be before I will have to build a new cage? Which I plan on doing?

They should never be put in small cages. They need cages taller than they are long. It should always be 1.5 times the length of the lizard. I would not get an iguana if I couldn't afford or was not able to build a large cage. They need heat lamps, UVB lighting, water bowls large enough to soak their whole body in, daily misting, and a correctly balanced salad with vitamins daily. They are not cheap or easy to care for. They grow very quickly, so even a 50 gallon tank won't last more than a few months.
