How long do cockatiel have to mate for?

Hi, I have recently got a new male cockatiel for my female cockatiel. It has been 3 days that they have been together and i have provided them with a breeding box. I saw them mating , and they were mating only for about 45 seconds.Are they suppose to mate for longer? Will the cockatiel still lay fertilized eggs?
